Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our professional parents, our foster community made it through Hurricane Helene! While our campus thankfully had water throughout the ordeal, power was only restored yesterday—and our kiddos lined the driveways, cheering on the linemen!
The National Guard delivered MREs and water, and our Nebo community went above and beyond, dropping off donations and meals and helping to provide a sense of normalcy for the children and a break for our parents.
Our maintenance crew had a frightening moment when a tree fell on their van while they were en route to power up the generator for the well. Thankfully, they escaped unharmed, though the van wasn’t so lucky.
Despite the challenges, everyone pulled together to keep our kiddos safe and entertained...even by candlelight! They even had opportunities to pitch in with service work, helping with storm cleanup efforts around town.
Meanwhile, our children’s advocacy centers in the western part of the state are a mix of resilience and recovery—some are operating as usual, while others are still facing tough circumstances. We appreciate your patience as we continue working to restore power, water, and internet.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who reached out to check on us. We are incredibly grateful to our communities near and far. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.
