Hannah Tolley grew up in Wytheville, Virginia, in the heart of Appalachia. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Emory & Henry College, graduating cum laude in 2016. In Spring 2016, she was awarded the "Psi Chi Regional Research Award" at the Psi Chi Research Conference in New Orleans for her research on attachment styles and microaggressions in relationships. She also received the "Outstanding Senior" award in Sociology and the "Excellence in Research" award in Psychology upon graduation.

In 2019, Hannah was recognized with the "Exceptional Service Award" for her role as a Program Specialist within the Autism Services department of Merakey in Western Pennsylvania. She went on to complete her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating magna cum laude in 2020. During her graduate studies, she chose to complete the mental health track, which is designed to prepare students for professional practice with individuals, families, and groups facing mental and behavioral health challenges.

Currently, Hannah is a licensed clinical social worker associate (LCSWA) working toward independent licensure. She joined Southmountain Children and Family Services in November 2023, where she utilizes her extensive experience working with children and families across various demographics to provide evidence-based models to support healing and growth. Specializing in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based, gold-standard treatment for trauma in children and adolescents, Hannah is passionate about helping children overcome the challenges of trauma, supporting their healing journey, and empowering them to reach their fullest potential.

Outside of her professional work, Hannah enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors with her husband and their dog. She is dedicated to physical wellness, participating in activities such as hiking, biking, attending exercise classes, and engaging in community events. Hannah also enjoys spending time near the water, whether relaxing on the beach or taking part in various water activities.
